EISCAT 3D Karesuvanto

The EISCAT 3D site in Karesuvanto, Finland consists of 54 hexagonal antenna units working together as one big array of antennas. This i one of the receiver sites in the EISCAT 3D system and the array is half the size of the main site in Skibotn, Norway.

The array is surrounded by three masts for calibration, lights and lightening conduction and and intrusion fence. The square site is 100 by 100 meters and the array is about 50 meters in diameter.
