Professor emeritus Tuomo Nygrén has passed away

We are deeply saddened by the news that professor emeritus Tuomo Nygrén passed away on May 14th. Prof. Nygrén was born 20th of April 1947 and died at the age of 77 years.

Prof. Nygrén was professor at University of Oulu, Dept. Physics in Finland between the years 2000 – 2014. He was deeply involved in EISCAT and a member of the EISCAT Council between 2001-2010.

Prof. Nygrén was the developer of EISCAT IS radar methods and author of the book “Introduction to incoherent scatter measurements”, 1996.

Prof Nygrén will be missed. May he rest in peace

The funeral is held on Friday 7th of June.
