New recruitment for the position as Radar Systems Engineer
In June EISCAT welcomed Mrs. Maria Snäll to the team. Maria taking on the role as radar systems engineer.
I accidently got into the space business when I got a short-time employment as technician at Rockets and Balloons department at Esrange. I was supposed to stay for 3-4 months but was there for 11 months. During that time, I got to experience MAXUS 7 being launched and then I was hooked, the space business was so cool! – Maria Snäll
Maria has a degree in Electrical Engineering, with focus on Signal Processing from Luleå University of Technology, graduated in the fall of 2004. Maria recently left SSC Esrange where she has been working since 2005, in several positions: as a technician, satellite controller, satellite engineer, antenna engineer, maintenance engineer, and project manager and flight director at the Rockets and Balloons department.
“As maintenance engineer, I worked with many different systems within Instrumentation. I have worked on several rocket and balloon campaigns and with the REXUS/BEXUS Programme, both as an engineer, a campaign manager and a flight director.”
“I’m originally from Haparanda and came to Kiruna in 2005. I live with my husband, my son, two (of three) bonus daughters and our cat. In my spare time I enjoy going to the gym, being outdoors, watching series or movies, or dancing “bugg”. My favorite place is our cottage in Kotalahti outside Haparanda.”
We are very happy that Maria joins our team. Her background in space engineering and her long experience is going to be a great addition to the EISCAT team. Welcome Maria.
