UiT-Norway’s Arctic University, Faculty of Natural Science and Technology (NT-faculty) operates facilities in Tromsø and on Svalbard on assignment from EISCAT. The faculty currently has two full-time employees at the EISCAT Svalbard Radar and six full-time employees at EISCAT Ramfjordmoen.
The Faculty of natural science and technology is seeking a skilled leader for exciting work at EISCAT Heating Ramfjordmoen.
The main task is to lead, operate, maintain and further develop the Heating facility, located approximately 30 km south of Tromsø in Ramfjordmoen. We are looking for a person with good knowledge in the field of engineering or physics. The position assumes that one can work independently but often in a team along with others on the staff. A person with solid engineering background and with an interest in physics research or vice versa will be ideal. The position is full time.
EISCAT is currently developing a modern radar which is expected to start operation around 2021. There are opportunities to contribute to the development of this new radar station (EISCAT_3D).
