The first article of the E3D receiver, the First Stage Receiver Unit, was recently shipped from the vendor, DA-Design in Finland, to the EISCAT_3D test site in Kiruna. After unpacking and initial power up checks, it was moved to the equipment container and connected to the 182 antenna ports. First article tests are expected to last at least throughout December. 109 FSRUs are needed for each of the EISCAT_3D sites.
